The SSCC Club had it's 10th Annual FIGURECON over the March 3rd and 4th weekend at Entertrainment Jct. in Cincinnati. Fellow club member, BLACK JACK did a modern desert setup again this year and I was really impresse with his Hasbro Humvee (at right). So impressed that I started looking for one about a week later.
The Hasbro Humvee is like 90% there. It is the right size and the detail is pretty good. The biggest things that I was disappointed with were the way that they hinged the half doors (okay, those need to go) and the fact that body sits about a 1/2" too low to the ground. I found an excellent tutorial, also on OSW by a trooper who goes by the name SAWGUNNER, below is the link
As stated above, I started looking for pictures online of actual vehicles, here are a few that really caught my eye...
....So, all that said, here is what I am thinking about doing with mine.
2. ADD ROOF - which means cutting away gun mount piece on the top and
redoing the roll cage
3. REMOVE THE DOORS
4. ADD A BRUSH GUARD ON FRONT
5. RAILINGS ON THE CARGO BED SIDES
6. MACHINE GUNS ADDED
7. DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS
While building up the courage to start, I have been working on a crew and collecting gear for the detailing. I am not where I want to be on either of those items, but here is what I have so far.
