One of our SSCC Club Members, DRONE retired in 2016 and moved from beautiful Ohio to Florida. He had a lot of 1:6th stuff he didn't want to take because he was moving to smaller place and I ended up buying his Cyber Hobbies German Field Kitchen. I had always wanted to do a field kitchen, but I missed out on the Cyber offer and figured I would never have a field kitchen to feed my hungry 1:6th German troops.
My wife bought me the book at right as a Christmas present (available on Amazon) and I figured it was finally time to get started on this project.
Below, the crate that the cook carries his kitchen scale in. The scale was an important part of each field kitchen because the cook needed to make sure that each soldier was getting his correct allotment of hot food each day. This crate was scratchbuilt from styrene.
Below are some Michelin Guides, a couple of Signal magazines and a map.
The pictures below are of my setup at the July SSCC Club meeting. I plan to create a scenic diorama with groundwork, etc for the shelf that houses this display at home. Hope to have that done soon.
