The idea of posing my figure in an "action" scene just sort of came to me. I wanted to have him on his motorcycle, but I couldn't figure out what kind of base to use or how I would mount the bike (you see, my motorcycle had a broken kickstand). I also didn't want to make it a permanent diorama because I want to use both the bike and the figure in a storyline that I have been working on. I remembered that I had a bunch of plaques that I bought years ago and was pleased to see that I had one that was shaped like a shield.
Then I painted the base white and used some vinyl stars to mask off the stars at the top of the plaque. I then painted the top in a faded blue that matched CAP's helmet. When that was dry, I taped off the area that would be white stripes and painted in the red stripes with a faded red color. When it was all dry, I removed the tape and was rewarded with a cool Captain America-like shield. Finally, I used a drill to create three holes in the plaque which were then painted to look like bullet holes and the attached pictures are the result.
