Now on to Part II of the Mid Winter Blues -
Yesterday, I did a little reorganizing of some of my pages to hopefully clean up the mess that the site has become (if you could see everything that is buried here like I can, you'd understand why I feel overwhelmed). I think the last time I blogged, I talked about the need to cut back on some of my Comic Storylines, so that I had even a ghost of a chance of putting some new material out here on a regular basis.
My thought process in regard to moving forward in the online comic arena is to try to make the projects short and sweet so that they can actually be completed in a reasonable amount of time. I was sort of doing that with the Adventures of Sheriff Roy, limiting the number of pages and scenes into manageable chunks. I need to do that with everything going forward.
I will be keeping Sheriff Roy around. It's different and fairly easy to set up. I will be keeping Vietnam Story around, but I want to find a way to do the same thing to it as well, plus there are actually some timing mistakes in the original stories that I need to correct. And I haven't really decided what kind of treatment my new comic, (which I have no idea when it will be coming out) COMBAT PATROL will get. My original thought was that it would be a WWII Themed piece to replace my original WWII story - The Haunted M5. I know I don't want to go that direction, but I am trying to come up with a way that it can be done in short, manageable chunks as well.
I am also messing with another idea. But let me just say first, the following comics are not going to be continued (at least as originally planned);
- GOTHAM JOURNAL
- DC/MARVEL CROSSOVER
- STAR TREK FIRST GENERATION (Yeah, I sold all that stuff)
- HAIRY PUTTER - WIZARDS IN SPACE
... And that was a lot of words to say that I am messing with another idea. I call it
(working title) -
This concept asks the question - What if the HOLE is a rip in the fabric of the Space Time Continuum (whatever that is) and allows patrons from a variety of universes to have drinks together, watch a little hockey and discuss the current events of their worlds - The Bar at the End of the Universe. I am not real sure where the whole Cincinnati Jones thing came from, or who he even is for that matter, but I thought it was a catchy title. This is certainly a piece that could be done as a "short", kind of like my Wright Stuff News Hour. All sorts of characters
MOVING ON TO THE SPRING PROJECT LIST (uuuuhhhhhhhh!)
The following is a list of physical modeling projects that are out there in my future. Maybe I can escape to the Bar at the end of the Universe (lol).
- HAMMER SIX's MARDER II Conversion (picking back up this weekend)
- REPAIRING GRAY GHOST's Dodge Weapons Carrier (busted bad)
- DRAGON SHERMAN (yes, this one's mine)
- Finishing OH-6 LITTLE BIRD VIETNAM CONVERSION
- DAIMLER DINGO (Scratchbuild)
- MORRIS CWT-8 TRUCK (Scratchbuild)
- DOZEN COWBOYS and HORSES/NEW TOWN STRUCTURES
These are just the projects that I know about, or have known about for a long time. I have no idea what some of the other little gems my SSCC Cohorts have brewing, seems like there are always new projects surfacing when you least expect them. And that is enough for one day, I think I will go find a good book and a warm blanket, I'm worn out just thinking about it, later - PM
