It occurred to me not too long ago that my "Man Cave" picture section had not been update from the pictures I took in my old house. I had posted some new shots on Facebook, but never got around to updating this site. Well... now it has been done (better late than never). Recently, I upgraded my mannequins, so it seemed like a good time to take some new pictures. So.... here we go.
Below is the view one gets upon entering the basement, 22 figure cases lining a single wall with the bulk of my collection. Dusting these is less than fun.

Sitting next to this row of cases and opposite the basement door is this fellow, on guard with his trusty 30 caliber machine gun. This is one of my new mannequins.
The center of the room is a long built in showcase. Yes, it was one of the reasons I decided to move here.... that, and the pool table in the back corner.
The other side of the room has more of my mannequins... and a bit of room for expansion.
This is the view looking back toward the basement door. My 6th SS Gebirgsjager mannequin is standing guard in the foreground.
This is the bulk of my German collection, though there are quite a few in the large showcase as well.
This section is my WWII American and British collection. The one exception being the first case, which are Korean War troopers. The vehicles on top of the case belong to my 37th Tank "Battalion". In addition to these vehicles, there are also two Shermans and two Stuarts, and another Jeep. The infantry figures that go with these vehicles have been divided into 8 man squads for ease of dividing them between the vehicles. There are a total of eight squads.
The weapons carrier was kit bashed from a 21st Century Toys Command Car.
The M2A1 White Halftrack was bashed using the front of a 21st Century White Scout Car and the running gear from a Hasbro Halftrack. The running gear are a little under scale, but it sort of works as the M2A1 was only a foot longer than the Scout Car. I originally made three of these, two of which are in SSCC club member Phil Ball's collection. His American vehicles are also stenciled for the 37th Tank Battalion, giving us two more halftracks, two more Shermans and a couple more Stuarts... it's a jolly party.

My Vietnam display so far... My mannequin is looking over the tree line, hoping to see the Hueys on approach. I have yet to finish that OH-6 Little Bird and I have an M-113 that I will eventually finish up and add to the display.
Three more of my new mannequins. The new mannequins all came from an online dealer called YANK MANNEQUINS. Not only do they have much better looking faces and hands than my old ones, they are shorter and are more in keeping with the average heights of people back in the 1940's. My tanker is only 5'4" tall and he is much more in keeping with the average height of an armored crew member.
This is the only one of my original mannequins that I held onto and he, do to the fact that he is the only one that can sit at my field desk, is my War Correspondent.
Finally, in the unfinished portion of the basement, this is my workspace. All my gear and unopened figures are back here, along with my tools and supplies.
