10/10/19 DINGO UPDATE
It has been two years since I last worked on this vehicle. Thought it was about time to finish it up. Mind you... I have a long way to go to complete this beast, but at least I am making some progress. These first two photos show the basic elements of the interior - Gas tank, radio equipment, driver and commander's chairs, Bren ammo rack, dash and steering.
Below is the gas tank with the details added. I tried to copy the picture at right. Not exact, but close.
Here's the detailed gas tank back in the interior again.
Here's another shot with the radio starting to get a little bit of detailing.. At this point, I still need the battery box that goes under the radio.
Here's a slightly different view of the radio unit.
This is the side hatch on the driver's side of the vehicle. I knew that I would never be able to do a working mechanism for raising and lowering the hatches, but I wanted to have something that looked like what I was seeing in the reference pictures. Since my hatches would not be functional, I decided that I would do a couple of open ones and a couple of closed ones. This is obviously an open one. There is still a little detailing that needs to be done on the interior side.
Here is the radio unit with additional detailing. There is a little more that needs to be done, but it is mostly there. The battery box has been added below.
Here are a couple of shots with the radio back in position. The details are starting to fill in and I am starting to get jazzed about the project.
And this is what I did today... The driver's front hatch and the Bren machine gun hatch. Both of these hatches are non-functional and are in the closed position. The Bren hatch was going to be functional, but I fouled up the hinges and by the time I realized it, the glue was set. Oh well... It's not the first mistake I've made on this thing.
Here are those two hatches from the inside. I still have a little more rivet detailing to do, but it is getting there.
And here is the compartment from above...and that is the update for now. I will add additional pictures as I make progress. Thanks for looking - PM
